Ingredients: 2 c rich country cream 1/4 tsp baking soda 4-41/2 c flour 1 c sugar 1 tsp baking powder

Directions: |
Directions:Mix cream, sugar, soda and baking powder in large bowl. Work in flour Knead until dough is smooth Flatten Dough and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight Next Day: Divide dough into thirds Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thick Sprinkle top of dough with colored sugar ( I use red sugar) Cut strips with pastry cutter about 1/2 in thick and shape into hearts Bake in pre heated 360 º oven Bake for 7 min check to make sure bottom of cookie is barely colored Immediately after baking, I put cookies on a paper plate, and then put the paper plate of cookies into a zip lock gallon bag Do not seal until the cookies are cooled This will keep your cookies yummy and soft |

Notes: My Aunt Frances would make these cookies every Christmas. Ohh, there were so good. They are a family favorite in our house My grand-daughters have all made this recipe and they keep the recipe in their own cookbook
