Ingredients:
Cake ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter (one stick, melted)
2 eggs
½ cup sour milk (milk with some freshly squeezed lemon juice works best)
2 cups flour
2 HEAPING Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla

Frosting (the best part) ingredients:
6 Tbsp butter
1 box package of powdered sugar- really hard to find these days, but Lucky's supermarket has it! I think it's a 1 lb box
1 egg
2 Tbsp half and half
1½ tsp vanilla

Cake Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Cream sugar, butter, and eggs. Add milk, vanilla, and water. On wax paper, sift all dry ingredients together about 3 times then add to butter mixture. Butter and flour two round cake pans or choice of pan. My boys like it double stacked so I use two rounds. Pour cake mixture evenly into the two pans. Bake for 40 mins. Cool on cake rack before removing the cake from the pans. Frost once cake is cooled.

Frosting directions:
Cream butter. Add ½ of the sugar. Blend in egg, vanilla, half and half, and remaining sugar. Frost the top layer and the sides of the cooled cake then add the second layer on top and do the same. It serves 10 hearty slices. You can also do a sheet cake style if you just double the recipe.
