1 cup water
2 cups raisins
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water and raisins for 5 minutes, cool and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, mix Crisco, butter, brown sugar, white sugar and eggs. Beat well. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and spices. Blend dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Then by hand, mix in the cooled raisins and blend well.
Drop by teaspoonful on well greased cookie sheets. Spread out a little when making big cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 75 small cookies.
