1 - 1/2 cups beans sorted and soaked according to directions on package
ham bone
12 cups boiling water (or until bone is covered
salt and pepper
1 cup cubed potatoes
1/2 cup diced onion

Directions:
Directions:
Boil ham bone. Add beans. Cook slightly until beans are soft (about 3 hours). Add onions and potatoes and continue simmering for 30 - 45 minutes. Remove meat from bone, returning the bite sized pieces to soup.
Wonderful with home made bread.

3# beans 9 quarts soaking, boil 2 minutes. Let set for 1 hour

7 lbs Ham bone
Salt and pepper
3 cups potates
