1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners sugar, plus more to roll cookies in
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine butter and sugar together. Add vanilla. Mix in flour and salt.

Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. The cookies do no spread. Bake about 8 minutes until set but not brown. While still warm, sprinkle confectioners sugar.

Makes about 5 dozen quarter size cookies.

Dough can be chilled and mix in 1 cup chopped pecans. While still warm, roll in sugar.
