Makes 2 dozen small cookies or 12 large cookies

In a large bowl add the following

Wet Ingredients

1c Soft Butter
1 1/2c Sugar
1 Egg
1t Vanilla

In a medium-sized bowl add the following

Dry Ingredients

2 3/4c Flour
1t Baking Soda
1/2t Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
Directions:
Directions:
In your large bowl mix, your softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, next add your egg and vanilla, mix well, but don't over beat your mixture.
In your medium bowl, sift your flour, baking soda, and baking powder together and add to your wet mixture. Mix on medium speed with a stand or hand mixer for 3 minutes.

Turn your mixture out onto a floured board and roll out to 1 1/2 inches thick.

Use cookie cutters to make desired shapes, and place cookie shapes onto an ungreased cookie pan about 2 inches apart, and bake in a 375* oven for 10-12 mins or until light golden brown.

Let cookies cool on pan before moving to a cooling rack. Allow to completely cool before frosting or decorating.
