1 c. sugar
½ c. butter, softened
1 egg
½ tsp almond extract
1¾ c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 Tbs. milk
½ c. almonds sliced and chopped

ICING
1 c. powdered sugar
¼ tsp almond extract
1-2 Tbs milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream sugar and butter, add egg, ½ tsp extract, add all dry ingredients and mix until dough forms.
2. Dough will be sticky. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Pat and roll out on greased cookie sheet or Teflon pad into 12 in x 3 inch rectangles. Placed 5 inch apart.
3. Brush with milk and sprinkle with almonds, roll almonds gently into dough. You may want to place non stick Reynolds wrap over dough or plastic wrap then roll

4. Bake 325* for 18 to 20 min. until firm to tough and light brown. Cool for several minutes, cut into 1 inch diagonal slices, remove and cool completely on wire racks.

5. Drizzle icing over bars.

Icing:
1 c. powdered sugar
¼ tsp almond extract
1-2 Tbs milk
