11 fresh lemons...3 sliced and 8 squeezed
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup cold water
a few drops of red food color
sparkling water or 7-UP

Boil together the water, sugar and the three sliced lemons for five minutes...
Let the syrup cool and add the juice of the other eight lemons...
Strain this mixture and store in a covered container in the refrigerator...
Use two tablespoons of syrup for each glass of ice and sparkling water or 7-UP
