½ cup butter, 1 ½ cups brown sugar
2 eggs - well beaten, 2 ½ cups flour
½ tsp. baking powder, ½ tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream, 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with sour cream, Add vanilla and mix well.
Chill dough until firm.
Drop by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 - 15 minutes.

6 Tbsp. butter, 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla, 2 Tbsp. hot water

In a saucepan, melt butter until golden brown. Blend in powdered sugar Add vanilla. Stir in 2 Tbsp. hot water. Frost the cookies.

These cookies are best frozen. All 5 Peterson kids remember that the first thing we would do when we got to Grandma Cummings house in Montezuma, Iowa, was run to her chest freezer in the breezeway and attack her cookies. These were our favorite of her cookies and she ALWAYS had them for us.
