6 medium potatoes
6 slices bacon
¾ cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons flour
1-2 tablespoons sugar
1½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon celery seeds
dash pepper
¾ cup water
⅓ cup vinegar

Directions:
Boil the potatoes in their jackets. Peel and slice.
Fry bacon slowly in a skillet and drain on paper towel. Crumble.
Saute the onion in the bacon fat until golden brown.
Blend into the mixture the flour, sugar, salt, celery seeds and pepper.
Cook over low heat, stirring until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat.
Stir in the water and vinegar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
Stir in carefully the potatoes and the crumbled bits of bacon.
Remove from heat, cover and let stand until ready to serve
