2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Line cookie sheets with parchment.

Sift together dry ingredients. Cream shortening with sugar. Add egg to creamed shortening mixture. Add dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk. Stir to mix well. Chill.

Roll dough 1/4 inch thick and cut into cookies.

Bake on parchment lined cookie sheets for 12-14 minutes.
