2/3 cup soft shortening
1 cup corn syrup
6 Tbsp liquid honey
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
7 squares semi sweet baking chocolate melted
2 cups sifted cake flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º.
Grease and flour 2-9"cake pans
Cream shortening and beat in corn syrup and honey.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add vanilla and chocolate and beat again.

Sift flour, baking, powder and salt together and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk beating well after each addition.

Spread batter in prepared pans and bake 25 - 30 minutes. Let stand in pans for 10 minutes. then turn out onto cake racks to cool.
