¾ cup butter
German chocolate cake mix
⅔ cup canned milk
14-ounce package light caramels
Chocolate chips
Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
1. Stir butter, ⅓ cup canned milk, and cake mix with a fork or spoon. Don't beat!
2. Put half in 9x13-inch cake pan.
3. Bake 6 minutes at 350º.
4. Melt caramels and ⅓ milk in a separate pan.
5. Pour over dough in pan.
6. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over caramel.
7. Flatten out remainder of dough and lay here and there on caramel.
8. Bake 18 more minutes at 350º.

2003 Be forewarned! Chocolate lovers might end up arm wrestling over these. It happened at one of our Bible study potlucks. This is one of Terry Wendt's favorites. When he was deployed during Operation Freedom, I mailed him some of these bars along with a cassette tape of some hymns.
