5 ib. peaches, peeled. Let stand overnight
1 quart vinegar
2 cups water
4 cups sugar
whole cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve sugar in vinegar and water. Add cloves and boil.

Put a layer of peaches on top of the vinegar solution. Let boil about one minute. Turn peaches over.
Repeat boiling process.

Put peaches in jars followed with adding vinegar liquid. Let stand for 5 minutes for the peaches to shrink and settle. Add more peaches and/or vinegar water if necessary to fill.

Seal in canner or store in fridge.

Have never tried these but thought it needed to be in our family cookbook. Our sweet little Grandma Mollie kept a little pill box full of snuff in her pocket and took out a little pinch and tucked a little inside her cheek.
