4 1/2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Nutmeg
3 cups Sugar
1 cup Shortening
2 cups Pumpkin
3 eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 Lg. bag Chocolate Chips
1 cup Nuts- chopped (Optional)

Directions:

Preheat Oven at 350º

Cream Sugar and Shortening- slowly add Eggs, Vanilla, and Pumpkin mixing well.

Combined remaining dry ingredients and add to wet a little at a time until well blended.

Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts (optional)

Drop by lg. spoonfuls on greased baking sheet or lined cookie sheet

Bake for 13-14 minutes
