1 stick butter, melted
½ c. white Karo Syrup
3 eggs, beaten
1 C. sugar
1 C. pecans, chopped fine
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 frozen pie shell, thawed

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together well. Bake at 350º, then turn down to 325º and at end of cooking, turn down to 300º for a total of 45 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.

I found this recipe in some of Mother's hand-written recipes. I have never put lemon juice in a pecan pie, but she added it! Not sure why she lowered the oven temperature during cooking either! Most recipes say to cook at 350.
