1 block butter
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 C dates
1 ½ C. rice crispies
1/2 C. Chocolate chips (optional)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla
Coconut or confectioners sugar to roll cookies in.

Directions:
Directions:
Cook butter, sugar, egg and dates until thick. Set off to cool. Add rice crispies (and chocolate chips if desired), pecans and vanilla. Stir well. Make into small balls and roll on coconut or confectioners sugar.
