2 C fresh peaches - peeled and sliced
1/2 C sugar
1 stick of butter
1 C sugar
1/2 C milk
1 C sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F.

Mix peaches with 1/2 C sugar. Let stand for 30 minutes or until juice forms. Melt butter in 2 quart baking dish. Make batter of remaining ingredients. Pour batter over butter, then pour fruit and juice over batter. DO NOT STIR. Bake for 30 - 45 minutes or until brown.
