3/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups oats, uncooked
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water, and vanilla until creamy. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
