1 cup shortening (I use ½ real butter, ½ shortening)
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
¼ tsp. Almond extract
3 cups flour (scant)
½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp baking soda

Frosting:
1 lb. powdered sugar
⅓ cup butter (real butter)
¼ tsp. Salt
¼ milk (I used canned milk)
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the sugars and the shortening, then add egg, milk, vanilla, and almond extract. In a separate bowl, sift remaining ingredients. Combine both bowls. Chill 1 hour. Roll out and cut cookies. (I roll out using powdered sugar, not flour.) Only roll out dough twice. Bake 375 degrees, 8-10 minutes until light brown. Once cookies are cool, frost.

Frosting: Mix all ingredients together and frost cookies.
