1 cup sugar
2 cups shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 to 1½ cups sesame seeds (Toasted)
¼ cup of milk (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix sugar and shortening in a bowl until softened, and gradually add eggs and vanilla until thoroughly blended. Add flour and baking powder
2. Shape into balls.
3. Put milk and sesame seeds in two separate bowls (to dip the balls in). Dip balls into milk and roll in seeds.
4. Flatten balls slightly and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375° for 20 minutes or until a toothpick in the middle comes out clean.
