4 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt 1c. butter
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 2 eggs 2/3 c. buttermilk
8 oz chopped dates 1 c. candied cherries, quartered
1/3 c. chopped candied pineapple red and green whole candied cherries, halved

Directions:

Combine flour, soda, salt; set aside. Cream butter, gradually add sugar beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beating until well blended. Chill dough at least one hour. Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Top with cherry half. Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
