1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. unsalted butter
4 oz. cream cheese --softened
1/2 tsp. of almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk
2 1/4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, butter, cream cheese, almond extract, vanilla and egg yolk. Blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup. Stir in flour. Chill dough for 30 minutes.

Heat oven to 375º . On lightly floured surface, roll out dough a third at a time. Cut into shapes and bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes. Cool and front if desired.

OR, my favorite thing with this recipe is to add 1/4 cup of peanut butter (creamy) and roll into 1" balls. Roll into sugar. Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes. Press Hershey's milk chocolate kiss in the center of the cookie and bake for 1-2 minutes longer. Need at least 36 kisses.
