10-¾ cups of All purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
⅜ cup of melted Crisco
4 Jumbo eggs or 5 medium or large eggs
¾ packet of active yeast
1 cup of raisins (optional)
1-½ cup of sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a measuring cup add 1/4 cup of sugar to 1 cup of like-warm water and mix in active yeast. Set aside.

In large bowl mix the dry ingredients including the raisins.
Make a well in the flour mixture and add eggs and melted crisco, and mix.
Add additional Luke-warm water to bowl and mix until dough becomes developed and is slightly sticky.
Set aside and cover with towel and let rise.

In large skillet, warm vegetable oil on medium to medium-high heat.
Test a small ball of dough in oil to make sure it’s right temperature.
Pull off pcs. of dough and fork hole in middle and place in skillet.
Once donut is golden brown on one side, careful flip.
Remove donut once cooked through and place on paper towel lined plate to cool.
