6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. butter softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Sift first 5 ingredients, set aside. In a bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, vanilla and lemon extract. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Stir in nuts. Divide dough into 4 parts and shape into 11x1½ inch rolls. Wrap in foil and chill over night. Slice cookies ⅜ inch thick. Bake on greased baking sheet at 250 º for about 10 minutes. Makes 17 dozen.
