(original recipe from Mrs. Ken Vorpagel and Miss Joanne Hilgendorf in the 1974 edition of "Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church Cookbook")

Grandma Viola Bruss would make these at Christmas time every year. Once we were old enough to bake, my sisters and I would make these every December along with a few others: these were my favorite, Carrie liked the Sour Cream Cut-Outs, and Lisa liked the Molasses (so we had to make all 3 of Grandma's recipes). If we were lucky, we could do our baking on a Snow Day! We still get together every December to make cookies together, and now our children are helping with the tradition.
