Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pound butter
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
3 tablespoons vanilla (I add a little more)
5 cups flour
3 eggs

Directions:
Directions:

In a bowl cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla, set aside. In a large bowl mix together baking powder and flour, gradually add to creamed mixture Mixture will be soft so chill for about an hour. Before rolling out, put flour on pastry cloth so dough won’t stick. Roll out a little at a time and cut with cookie-cutter.

Make a glaze from one of your cookbooks. I put butter, milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar in mine. I don’t really measure. I just keep adding powdered sugar until I feel I have enough for the cookies.

Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes. Be careful bottoms don’t get too dark. Let’s sit 5 or so minutes before removing to cooling tray.
