Directions:
Cream shortening, cream cheese, & sugar well. Beat in egg yolk, vanilla & orange rind zest. Gradually blend in flour, salt, & cinnamon. Chill for at least half an hour. Fill cookie press. Form cookies and add whatever you choose for decorations (Including dividing cookie dough in to add different food colorings to separated dough amounts). Suggestions for centers of round formed cookies are: various kinds of chips, nuts, cut-up maraschino cherries, red hots, cherry sours. For Christmas tree-shaped cookies, a star sprinkle for top and multi-colored sprinkles for the body of the tree. These cookies freeze well (separate layers with plastic wrap or waxed paper).

Personal Notes:
These are always favorites because of their decorations and/or colors, taste, and the fact that they are small (and several can fit easily even into children's hands...)
