½ cup butter or margarine
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup firmly packed dark or light brown sugar
1 egg
1 ½ cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter; blend in peanut butter. Gradually blend in sugars and cream well
Beat in egg. Gradually add dry ingredients and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Shape into small balls about 1: diameter. Place on ungreased baking sheets, 2: apart. Press down with back of fork.

Bake in pre-heated 375 degree oven 10 – 12 minutes or until done. Remove from baking sheets; cool on wire racks. Yields about 3 dozen.
