1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/8 c. dates (8 oz) cut in pieces
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. water
6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
2 eggs
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. milk
1 c. walnuts, chopped
Frosting:
1 1/2 c, powdered sugar, sifted
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. orange rind
2-3 tbsp. orange juice

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the four, soda and salt.
Combine dates, brown sugar, butter and water in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly until dates soften. Stir in chocolate morsels. Blend in 2 eggs. Mix well. Add dry ingredients oalternately with orange juice and milk until blended thoroughly. Stir in walnuts. Spread in a greased 15x10x11 pan. Bake at 350* for 25 to 30 minutes.


Frosting: Combine powdered sugar, butter and orange rind. Blend in orange juice until of spreading consistency.
