2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, large
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. powdered ginger
1/2 tsp. powdered cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening and sugar until creamy. Add egg, molasses ad spices. Add flour mixture. Shape into a ball and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.


Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll into sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 15 minutes at 350* but after 5 minutes remove from oven and rap on counter to flatten the cookies.
