Filling:
¾ c. of sugar
¼ c. of flour
3 egg yolks
2 c. of milk
shredded coconut (however much you want)
1 tsp. of vanilla
½ stick of butter

*save egg whites for the meringue

Meringue:
eggg whites
9 TB of sugar
cream of tartar

1 pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and flour.
Stir in milk and eggs.Mix well.
Cover over medium heat stirring constantly until thick.
Add vanilla and butter after it is removed from heat. Then add coconut, as much as you want.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Make meringue.
Sprinkle meringue with coconut.
Bake in 350º oven until meringue is lightly browned.

Meringue:
Beat egg whites at high speed until stiff peaks form.
Gradually add sugar, besting well.
Add a pinch of cream of tartar.
Add 1 tsp. of vanilla.
