¾ c. granulated sugar
¾ c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 lg. egg
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1 package (12 oz.) milk chocolate or semi sweet chips (2 cups)

Special Herb Mixture:
1 oz. special herb
¼ cup melted butter
⅓ cup water

Preheat oven 350º.

Make the special herb butter:
1 oz. Special Herb of your choice, ground or chopped. Place on baking sheet and bake 45 minutes to 1 hour at 240º. Meanwhile, melt ¼ c. butter. Remove herb from the oven and and add to the melted butter, add ⅓ cup water. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until a beautiful amber color. Strain Herb butter thru cheese cloth and squeeze out excess liquid.

Cookies:
Mix sugars, 1 c. softened butter, vanilla, egg and special herb butter in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

Drop by teaspoonfuls on un-greased cookie sheet.

Bake 11-13 minutes
