½ c. plus 6 T. butter, softened
¾ c. light brown sugar
½ c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract

1½ c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
3 c. Quaker oats (original)

Raisins, chopped walnuts or chocolate chips are optional.

Preheat oven to 350º
In a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and mix well.
Add the oats and stir with a spoon to mix.( Do not use electric mixer.)
If desired, stir in raisins or chocolate chips or chopped walnuts.


Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet 2 in. apart.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cool 1 min. on cookie sheet.
Remove to rack and cool.

Recipe from Quaker Oats inside lid. Justin loves these with raisins. I tried them with chocolate chips once and they were a big hit!
