5 1/4 C Flour
4 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 1/2 C Shortening or butter
3 C Brown Sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2 Tsp Vanilla
9 Tblsp Milk

Short Recipe:
1/2 C Shortening or butter
1 3/4 C Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
3 Tblsp milk
1 egg
1/2 C Brown Sugar
2 Squares baking chocolate (optional)
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cream sugar and shortening together until fluffy. Add eggs and flavoring, mix well. Add dry ingredients. Divide dough into 6 equal parts. Leave one plain and vary others if desired.

Roll into lengths 1 1/2" diameter. Wrap in waxed paper - chill thoroughly. Slice and bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes.

This recipe was used to make smaller batches of cookies from already prepared dough. You can make as many of the cookie rolls as you would like, or use them one at a time for limited amounts.
