1 qt. milk, scaled
4 Tbsp. sugar
4 Tbsp. shortening
3 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 cakes yeast (soak with 1 Tbsp. sugar in a little water)
4 qts. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix using enough flour to be like cake dough. Let raise 20 min. Add rest of flour. May add more if needed. Let raise until double in size. Roll in balls like biscuits and let stand 10 min. Crease in center with hand, turn over. Put in pan, raise, then bake.
