Ingredients:
fresh green beans (as many as you want)
1 package salt pork

Directions:
Directions:
Slice and fry salt pork in bottom of a large Dutch oven. After it has sizzled and produces liquid, slowly pour in water. Add green beans (cleaned and snapped in half). Bring to boil, then simmer on stove top for hours (and I mean hours!).

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Serve with pinto beans, cornbread (see recipe for Mom Qualls' Cornbread and Grandma Virgie's Pinto Beans in our cookbook) and thick slices of raw yellow onions. Perfect Southern dinner requested many times in the Qualls' household.
Tack on corn-on-the-cob, tomatoes, and cucumbers to a summer table.
