Cream together:
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
Stir to blend and add to sugar mix:
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
Add:
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
Mix well
Icing:
3 tbs butter
3/4 tsp vanilla
4 tbs milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup sifted powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Add 1 cup raisins or nuts if you like. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350º. Icing:Combine brown sugar, butter, milk and vanilla - bring to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and stir until cool. Add powdered sugar and stir until smooth. Frost cookies while warm.
