"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Cream butter. Add sugar gradually and cream thoroughly. Add egg and vanilla and cream again.
Blend in dry ingredient. Divide the batter into 3 parts. Keep one plain, and add red food coloring to one part and green food coloring into another. Stir in the colors until well mixed. Using a cooking press, select the cookie shape and insert the disk. Fill the press with batter. Press onto cookie sheets that are covered with parchment paper. Have your helpers decorate the cookies with colored sugar and other cookie decorations. Bake each pan for 10 to 12 minutes. Watch closely and remove when the edges just start to brown. Use spatula to move cookies to rack for cooling.
