1 pt. molasses
1 pt. sour cream
½ pt. light syrup
1 small can Crisco
2 tbsp, baking soda
4 eggs
1 lb. brown sugar
4 lb. flour (10½ c.)
¼ lb. lemon peel
¼ lb. orange peel
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. cloves
½ tsp. nutmeg
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. dates (chopped)
1 lb. nut meats (chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Warm molasses, sour cream, syrup and brown sugar. Set aside.
Mix together flour, baking soda, salt, cloves,and nutmeg in large bowl.
Mix Crisco and eggs till creamy.
Add to flour mixture.
Add molasses, sour cream, syrup and brown sugar mixture. Mix well.
Add raisins, dates, orange and lemon peels.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350º.
Roll dough ½ inch thick.
Cut using a 3 inch biscuit cutter.
Place on cookie sheet.
Bake 20 minutes.
Cool completely.
Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
