Ingredients:  
4 Flat spoons of shortening
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 finger full of baking powder
1 1/2 teacup of flour
8 small apples cored
sugar
cinnamon
butter
milk
1 cup water
1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1) Mix together shortening, salt, baking power, flour to make dough. Roll out on floured counter and cut dough to fit around apple.
2) Add apple to dough and add sugar, cinnamon, butter in the cored apple. Wrap dough around apple and seal shut.
3) Add to greased baking dish, cover crust lightly with milk and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.

Icing:
1) Combine water and sugar, heat to melt sugar.
2) Add cornstarch to cool water and and mix well.
3) Add cornstarch to water-sugar mixture, heat until thickens.
4) Remove from heat and add vanilla.

Add icing to apple dumplings and enjoy!
