3 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 T vanilla
1 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the butter, sugar.

Add the eggs and mix well.

Add the vanilla.

Put flour mixture into the butter and sugar mixture.

Roll the dough into 4 rolls, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Slice thin and bake at 375º until done.

The rolls of dough keep great in the freezer and are fun to have on hand, if unexpected guests drop in for a visit.

You can take a roll out, thaw a few minutes, slice, and bake very quickly.

The baked cookies also freeze well. Granny Georgie brought these cookies often when she came to visit. They are simple, but the butter and pecans make them delicious.
