2 packages of light Royal Chocolate Pudding and Pie mix.
5 eggs
Separate the eggs, putting whites in one bowl and yolks in another.
Discard one egg yolk.
Put 4 egg yolks in the dry pie and pudding mix and stir. Then go by the recipe on the package to make the pie filling. Pour this into two baked pie crusts.

MERINGUE:
Beat 5 egg whites (room temperature) until soft peaks form.
Then add 1 T of sugar at a time, beating all the while until stiff. (about 6 T)
Spread meringue over the hot pie and pudding mixture, sealing the edges at the crust, so the meringue won't shrink.

Bake at 350º until browned. (Approx. 10 minutes)

This makes two pies.

If you can't find "Royal Pudding and Pie" mix, use another brand.

When spreading meringue, put it in dollops on top of the hot pie mixture. Then spread it to connect the dollops.
