1/2 c butter softened
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 lg egg
1 egg yolk
1/2 t vanilla
1/4 t maple flovoring(opt)
1 1/2 c flour
2/3 c pecan halves
EASY CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c whipping cream
1/2 c butter
1 1/2 c powdered sugar

PREHEAT 350º.
In lg bowl, mix butter and sugar till fluffy. Mix in soda and salt. Add egg and yolk. Mix in vanilla and maple. Add flour gradually. Spray sheet. Arrange pecan pieces in group of 5 in starburst design to resemble feet and head of turtle. Shape dough to balls. Dip bottom in egg white and set in center of nuts. Press down. Bake 10-13 min. Cool 2 min and to rack.
FROSTING: In saucepan, melt chips, cream and butter, stirring constantly (or 1 min in MW). Pour over powdered sugar and stir fast. Frost cookies. May have to re-heat.
