Notes: Kate; I thought it would be neat to contribute a recipe from my side of the family. My grandmother also put together a cookbook when I was a child - filled with recipes from neighbors, friends and both sides of my mothers family. My great grandparents were German immigrants and my grandmother cooked a lot of my great grandmothers (a personal chef) recipes. Here’s one of my family’s favorite cookie recipes that we mostly make at Christmas time. Until very recently we always believed that these were German cookies but they are actually Swedish.
