2/3 c butter
1/2 c sugar
2 egg yolks (beaten)
1 1/3 c flour
1/2 t salt
Jam or jelly ( I like to make on batch of strawberry, one apricot or raspberry)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and flour, that has been sifted with salt. Blend well. Form dough into 1” balls, and place on cookie sheet. Make a slight depression on each and place jam in depression. Bake for 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Dust with powdered sugar when cooled.

Kate; I thought it would be neat to contribute a recipe from my side of the family. My grandmother also put together a cookbook when I was a child - filled with recipes from neighbors, friends and both sides of my mothers family. My great grandparents were German immigrants and my grandmother cooked a lot of my great grandmothers (a personal chef) recipes. Here’s one of my family’s favorite cookie recipes that we mostly make at Christmas time. Until very recently we always believed that these were German cookies but they are actually Swedish.
