1 c melted butter
2 c sugar
2 eggs
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
2 t vanilla
1 c cocoa powder
3 c flour
2 sm jar 10oz ea marashino cherries
1 pkg chocolate chips (6-12 oz)
1/2 c condensed sweetened milk

PREHEAT 350º.
Melt butter and mix in sugar. Cool and add eggs. Add baking soda, powder, salt, vanilla, and cocoa, stirring after each. Add flour and mix. Will be stiff and a bit crumbly. Drain cherries and remove stems. Reserve juice. Pat dough into walnut size ball. Place on greased choke sheet 12/sh. Press down in center with thumb. Place 1 cherry in indentation. In double boiler, combine chocolate chips, condensed milk. heat till melted. Add app 1/ 8 c reserved juice. If sauce is too thick add more juice. (Test with t. If doesn't glob off, it's too thick.) Spoon sauce over center of cookie to just cover cherry. Do not drip down sides. Bake 10-12 min. Let cool 2 min and rack.
