3/8 cup cocoa powder (Hershey's or other)
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/16 tsp. salt

5/8 cup (i.e,, 5/8 of stick) butter or margarine (softened)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract

In large bowl, cream together margarine/butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg, then vanilla.
In another bowl, combine flour,cocoa, baking soda and salt. Stir into creamed mixture.
Let batter chill in fridge 15 minutes for ease of handling.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Drop batter by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven, let stand on cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer cookies to wire rack to compete cooling. Makes about 30 cookies.
