Ingredients:

6 eggs, beaten
½ cup sugar
1/16 tsp. salt
1/32 tsp. nutmeg (in Granny's words, perhaps a shake)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Mix together all ingredients.

Pour into a casserole dish.

Place a pan on the middle oven rack. Put the casserole dish in the center of the pan, and then slowly pour water halfway up the side of the casserole dish, being careful not to splash water in the dish.

Bake at 350º until solid. (Test by putting a knife into the custard. It should come out clean if the custard is done.)
