1 c sugar
3/4 c butter
1 lg egg
1/2 t vanilla
2 c flour
1.4 t baking powder
1 jar (12-15oz) cherry preserves
2 c flaked cocomut, chopped
2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips (12oz)
Neverfail Fudge Frosting:
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/3 c cream
1/2 c semi-sw choc chips
1 t vanilla

Directions:

Preheat 350º. Spray 9X13 with PAM or line with foil.
Place sugar and butter and mix till light and creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix. Gradually add flour, baking powder. Mix in chopped walnuts (not in recipe). Press 3/4 dough into pan (set aside 1 c and put in rest). MW preserved for 20 sec. Cool. Spread evenly over cake mixture and smooth out with spatula. Sprinkle chopped coconut and then chips. Crumble rest of dough mixture. Press down lightly. Bake 30-35 min till golden brown. Cool on rack. Then cut into brownie bars.

Can use "Never-fail Fudge Frosting": Bring butter, sugar and cream to boil over MED heat and then boil for 2 min. Stir in chips and vanilla and pour over top of bars.
Refrig till cool and set for faster results.
