1 cup sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
Lemon Slices
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups orange juice
6 cups claret (Bordeaux wine)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 cup dry sherry

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, cinnamon sticks and 3 lemon slices in1/2 cup water for 5 minutes and strain Put aside

Heat but do not boil, the remaining ingredients.
Combine with syrup Garnish with lemon slices and serve hot.

On New Years Eve and New Years Day, the master of the English house holds the cup of wassail and drinks to the health of those present.
